8/17/2023 0 Comments Custom pixar intro blender![]() ![]() Cycles is faster on smaller scenes, but suffers major slowdowns and memory issues once you start using heavy geometry, hair and motion blur (something the Gooseberry team is very well aware of), whereas engines like Arnold and PRMan handle the complexity much more efficiently. One of Arnold’s developers said essentially the same thing. ![]() It took almost 30 minutes for me to render the cornell box demo scene to a good level in PRMan, whereas Cycles probably would’ve banged it out a lot quicker. PRMan is designed for the types of scenes they generate for movies: lots of big textures, massive amounts of geometry, motion blur, etc… Engines with this focus generally don’t do very well on smaller scenes. I’m wondering why when I tested renderman before it was so slow. What’s your spec and render times for that. Pitiwazu it looks like denoise is doing a smart blur like in photoshop.
